The Study

Welcome to the study. Please feel free to visit as often as you want, the study will be updated each month and is dedicated to providing a library of resources you can access at any time.

As you browse through you will find information on learning programmes I am involved in, learning sessions you may be able to attend and learning opportunities I offer.

There is also a section on books I am currently reading and reviews on how they might relate to performance development, conditioning and coaching.

The final section contains learning materials. Within this area you will find  articles on a wide range of topics. The articles have been written by a range of authors and remain free for you to access at your leisure.

Learning Programmes

 Supertraining Practice Group (UK)

Next meeting:  to be announced

Topic: to be announced

At the end of 2006 I established The Supertraining Practice Group.  Founded on the spirit and in the memory of Dr.Mel C. Siff the originator of the Supertraining Internet Discussion group, it is committed to providing a learning forum of the highest quality for the personal and professional development of those practicing in health,  fitness and sports performance. It offers a non-judgemental environment for challenging ideas and encourages critical analysis of our thinking and practice.

Group meetings are held in London on a bimonthly basis. Each meeting involves presentation on a selected topic followed by group discussion, debate and analysis. The evenings are a mixture of theoretical and practical reflecting the applied emphasis of the work of many of the practitioners in the field.

For information on attending upcoming meetings go to 'let's talk...you go first' and send me an email with STPG in the subject box.

What's Gary Reading?

As most who know me are aware my reading selection is wide and varied. Sometimes I will go for a completely new book or more often re-read something from my library (I never fail to glean something new even if I am re-reading something for the third or fourth time). Equally sometimes I will focus on a reference text for a month just to re-visit and review core material or theoretical knowledge. Each month I try and read or re-read as the case may be at least one business or coaching related book and one conditioning related book and also occasionally I pick up something random from the fiction or biographical worlds.

So my current choices are:

The War of Art (2002)
